AIDS LifeCycle Cyclist visits San Francisco General Hospital for Christmas

In one of my past entries, I spoke of . ... . . 'when does the world give?'
And immediately, I thought .... Christmas.

Tony visits Trader Joe's to purchase items for the San Francisco General Hospital AIDS Ward Impatient Gift Bags

Thanks to contributions from my friends Christopher & Leah . . .

Christoper delivers donated L'occitane En Provence care packages

Leah purchased these gift bags from Walgreens

Today, I will visit the Impatients of the General Hospital's AIDS Ward. And, I will deliver holiday gift bags containing the following items:

Trader Joe's Original Savory Thins
Visconti's Panettone
Trader Joe's "Refresh" Citrus Body Wash
Trader Joe's Organic Green Tea
Trader Joe's Echinacea Tea
Ferrara Pan's "Lemon Head"
L'Occitane En Provence Ultra Rich Body Creme
Trader Joe's Uncrystallized Candied Ginger
Royal Dansk - Luxury Wafers
1 Music CD

So today and every day, walk the streets as if it's Xmas. And, see if you can do something for someone other than yourself....

1. Buy a stranger a cup of coffee
2. Pump the gas for the person in front of you
3. Call your mother and tell her thank you,
4. Instead of going out to dinner, donate the funds to charity . . .
5. Go clean your neightbor's kitchen ....
7. Give the babysitter "the day off paid."
8. Ask your mailman his name.

Wishing the best of all possible worlds,
tony

The Greatest Gifts & Oprah Sightings

Today, I received one of the greatest gifts, words of wisdom, from a lovey friend . . . . .

The Greatest Gifts by Recycled Paper Greetings - A Greeting Card

The Greatest Gifts
May we break boundaries, tear down walls,
and build on the fondation of goodness inside
each of us. May we look past differences,
gain understanding, and embrace acceptance.
May we reach out to each other, rather
than resist. May we better stewards
of the earth, protecting, nurturing and replenishing
the beauties of nature. May we practice
gratitude for all we have, rather than complain
about our needs. May we seek cures for the sick,
help for the hungry, and love for the lonely.
May we share our talents, give our time, and
teach our children. May we hold hope
for the future very tenderly in our hearts and
do all we can to build for bright tomorrow.
And may we love with our whole
hearts, for that's the only way to love.

Wishing you the gifts
of peace, hope and love
this season
and everyday of the year.

The Greatest Gifts & Many Oprah Sightings

Dear Tony,
Happy Holidays!
May your 2006 be a healthy & happy one, filled with many Oprah
sightings

Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco

Several of my Yoga students have asked me to comment on the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco.

"Being that I am a graduate of the Two-year Advanced Teacher Training Program of the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco, I believe that I can express a valid opinion . . . .

In my eyes, the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco is a place of vast knowledge. And the Advance Teacher training program consists of pranayama, anatomy, physiology, philosophy, apprenticeships, teaching skills, personal yoga practice skills, and a wonderful community of highly skilled advanced senior iyengar yoga teachers.

Iyengar Yoga teacher, Ben Thomas

Senior, Iyengar Yoga teacher, Ben Thomas, will teach you "by example." Ben Thomas is a true reflection of compassion. He possess a wonderful chanting voice. He possess a wide range of Iyengar Yoga & Astanga Yoga knowledge. He has taught under the guidance of B.K.S. Iyengar for over 20 years. He is a definite treat to your yoga experience. "A crown jewel."

She will unveil your personal challenges, and will provide you with over 20 years of classic yoga knowledge. Every Yogi/yogini should visit her yoga class. She greatly influenced who I am "today."

Imagine speaking throughout your class as if you were teaching the blind?
Iyengar Yoga teacher, Jaki Nett

Iyengar Yoga teacher, Janet MacLeod

Janet MacLeod:
Janet ...a kiss to you (smile). I apprenticed under Janet MacLeod. Like all of these teachers, Janet studies under the sensitive eye of Mr. B.K.S. Iyengar. She has the ability to get you into a pose without you even noticing ....She is vast in her knowledge yet gives the right knowledge at the right time. And, there's a sense of humor that will make you smile.

World AIDS Day - San Francisco General Hospital & AIDS LifeCycle

01 December 2005 - World AIDS Day

World AIDS Day - 2005

Sometimes we want to help others, but we are so overwhelmed by all that needs to be done in this world that we don't know where to start. We hope that tomorrow or next week, when everything calms down, we will be able to become the actively compassionate human beings we know we can be. We put off goodness like we put off going on a diet.

Yet today, I stood up at 7:00am. And although I was confronted by the rain, I cycled down to the San Francisco Flower Mart. And, I purchased some long stem roses; attached a letter to each flower. And soon later, I visited the San Francisco General Hospital.

San Francisco General Hospital

Question:
What was my intention?

Answer:
To deliver flowers and a letter to the San Francisco General Hospital.
To let the AIDS Inpatients of the San Francisco General Hospital know that they are not alone.
To remind the AIDS Patients of General Hospital that 1,500 AIDS/LifeCycle Cyclist (and various other individuals) are beside them in fighting this AIDS pandemic.

Whatever you decide to do for World AIDS Day, the most important thing is that you follow its basic principals by raising awareness and understanding where you live and by remembering the millions living with HIV or suffering because of AIDS.
